The Whittet-Higgins RTD-series rethreading die is an inch-size threaded shaft repair tool used to clean, repair, and reform damaged external shaft threads. Its ground threads precisely re-cut and restore minor thread deformations while removing old anaerobic locking compounds and particulate buildup from the threaded surface.
The die body is machined with a hexagonal profile so it can be turned with readily available shop wrenches, including adjustable, chain, and strap wrenches. Made from case-hardened carbon steel for durability, each die conforms to the thread specifications delineated in ANSI/ABMA 8.2-1999.
Rated for a maximum operating temperature of 300 degrees F, the RTD die is manufactured in the USA and is RoHS compliant. It is offered in a wide range of sizes to suit specific shaft repair requirements.
